The Commonwealth and Western Australian Government are jointly providing eligible owners of residential properties whose dwellings have been damaged or destroyed by the flood waters associated with Cyclone Ellie, a reimbursement grant of up to $50,000 to improve the resilience of their dwelling against future disaster events.
There are two parts to the program:
- Recovery Grant Component: This program assists homeowners in restoring their damaged or destroyed homes to their original state. It provides financial support for clean up, repairs, and rebuilding, regardless of whether the home is insured or not. It covers expenses that insurance doesn't pay for and even helps when the insurance payment falls short of the repair costs.
- Resilience Grant Component: For dwellings affected by Cyclone Ellie (flooding), this component helps homeowners make improvements to their dwelling to make them more flood resistant.
Only one application can be made per eligible dwelling.
You do not need building insurance to apply for this grant.
